Maysville Autumn Leaf Festival

A couple of weeks ago, Allison and I took the kids to the Autumn Leaf Festival in Maysville, GA, which is only about 15 minutes from where we live. It was a cute little festival, and had just enough stuff to keep the kids entertained. It was so hot that day, Allison and I were glad it wasn't a bigger festival because we had the kids all dressed in long sleeves and pants, since it was cold that morning....not prepared for the weather.

The kids had fun with this blow-up ball game. The yellow cone in front of Wylie blows air out to make the ball hover so you can hit it with the bat. Wylie got the hang of it after a few swings, and some instruction from the nice, little lady who was running it.

Ashley, on the other hand, didn't quite get that you were supposed to swing at the ball. She kept putting the bat between the cone and the ball until the air wasn't blowing on the ball anymore and it fell on the ground. So, she created her own game.
Tyler was funny...Allison would help Tyler hit the ball, then he would want to get that same ball back to hit it again. He didn't understand that there was more than one ball. He would lean over the edge and almost fall in the hole where the ball was returned...every time!
Next, it was on to Papa's Little Choo Choo. Allison and I said if John and Jamie saw that train, their reaction would be, "I could make that." Needless to say, the kids enjoyed the ride.
Wylie and Ashley really enjoyed the Spin Art. The piece of paper you create your masterpiece on is spinning and you pour the paint onto the paper and end up with a splatter-type piece of artwork. Wylie was quite good at it...he has a skill! Here, he is helping Ashley do hers.
Wylie is making a suggestion of what color Ashley should use next...
On the ride home, Ashley couldn't keep her eyes open. Notice the limp arm by her side and the gum still in her mouth...
